Properties: As a food additive, it is the white or tawny powder easily to absorb moisture and turn to blocks.
SUCROSE ESTERS OF FATTY ACIDS
>>are free-flowing off-white powders with more than 90% active matter (with the exception of SE, which is a 40% solution in water/alcohol), neutral in taste and odour
>>are fully vegetable-derived
>>are excellent emulsifiers for both oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, due to their wide range of HLB values (1-16); are effective for a wide range of oils, such as mineral, vegetable, or silicon oils
>>form lamellar liquid crystalline networks in oil-in-water emulsions, by themselves, if a specific ratio of high and medium HLB types are used, or in combination with other emulsifiers
>>have the ability to effectively disperse solid particles and are compatible with high levels of dry solids (e.g. zinc oxide, titanium dioxide)
>>contribute to skin moisturization and protection of the cutaneous fat film of the skin while providing a silky skin feel
>>are able to reduce the irritant properties of other substances present in cosmetic formulations, such as anionic surfactants
>>show mild detergent characteristics and have a moderate solubilizing activity; skin lipids are only marginally effected
>>show a selective anti-microbial activity; the growth of certain less favorable micro-organisms is inhibited, while only marginally affecting normal skin flora, if at all
Usage:
in Food industry First,add proper water (or oil, alcohol or other organic solvent) into sucrose fatty acid esters to mix and moisten it. Then, add water (or oil, alcohol or other organic solvent) needed once more and heat it to make it dispersed or dissolved. If used together with soluble powder,it can be mixed with the powder directly and then add solvent to disperse or dissolve them.
In Industry: used in cosmetics, detergents, toothpaste. in Pharmaceutical, ointment, Suppository, tablet, syrup,antibiotic preparation,etc. Other Industry: sugar refining,meat and fish preparation, fresh fruit keep fresh, perfume.etc.
